COMENIUS MEETING IN SZCZECIN

 

 

Szczecin 19-24.04.2013

The excitement accompanied the students of our school, when they greeted their foreign guests at the airport in Berlin. Ice was not broken yet. Polish youth was slowly getting used to the idea of ​​responsibility that was needed. All have passed their exam in hospitality, creativity and kindness.

The first day (Friday 19 April 2013)

Without obstacles we arrived at Tegel airport to pick up our friends from Belgium, and then from England and Spain. Together we went to Friedrichstrasse to the museum of the Berlin Wall, where the guide told us about how people crossed the wall in search of freedom, which was often an insurmountable obstacle. After that we all moved along a 200- meter-long the surviving fragment of the wall. After such a busy day, we came to Szczecin. Parents met the Polish students and their guests outside the hotel Radisson Blu to take them home.

The second day (Saturday 20 April 2013)

Day was devoted to visiting Szczecin, combined with the attraction of the amusement park. The teachers visited the city.

The third day (Sunday 21 April 2013)

The programme was organized by a family.

The teachers spent Sunday at Ponderosa Ranch where they enjoyed a relaxing game of croquet, horse riding training show and a cart ride as well as visiting a mini zoo.

The fourth day (Monday 22 April 2013)

Tough day. Much of the project work, presentations, for up to 3 tasks: the fall of the Berlin Wall, seen from different perspectives, Natural Resources and My European Union. Guests have prepared international lunch, made with products brought from abroad. Most popular and probably the tasties were Spanish chorizo ​​and lomo, Belgian chocolate and English biscuits and KitKat.

Students and teachers took part in the polonaise dancing that everyone enjoyed . When teachers were working on more arrangements for the project, the students took part in socializing games.

After a two-hour break, we all met up at the theater Pleciuga to see the "Presentations for Comenius".

The Fifth Day (Tuesday 23 April 2013)

Trip to Międzyzdroje was to supplement knowledge of natural history. Our group visited the natural history museum, which features a stuffed animal specimens, found in Wolin National Park. Then we went to “Żubrowisko”, where guests from the south and west of Europe saw bisons -largest European mammals. Walking on a windy pier ended our stay in Międzyzdroje. On the way back, the guests were treated to a traditional Polish żurek in bread

The sixth day (Wednesday 24 April 2013)

 

Saying goodbye , with a tear in the eye, was endless. Guests, full of new experiences, set off by coach to the airport in Berlin.
