The school has 1440 pupils aged 11 to 18. 158 pupils are in the Sixth Form. There are over 91 teachers who work in the school. Pupils who attend the school are predominantly from an Irish cultural heritage. A significant number of pupils live in inner city areas of the city. View of de School
The city's reputation was forged as a powerhouse of the Industrial Revolution in Britain, a fact which led to Birmingham being known as "the workshop of the world" or the "city of a thousand trades".
Birmingham's industrial importance has declined but it has developed into an important commercial centre.
It is the fourth most visited city by foreign visitors in the UK.
